Pachpadra. Locals continued their protest outside the under-construction refinery at Sambhra village near Pachpadra for the third day on Wednesday. Due to the strike, the work of the refinery was completely closed. Hundreds of people gathered at the protest site. The local police and administrative officials held talks several times, but the demands of the people could not be agreed upon.
District head Mahendra Chaudhary said that it is the company’s fault for not giving employment to the local people and not giving work to the contractors according to their qualifications. You people should fight, as a public representative, all possible help will be given. Stand in protest till the demands are not met.

Zilla Parishad member Ummedaram Beniwal said that the companies were discriminating against the local people. Transportation and living facilities are being given to the outside workers, but no facilities are being given to the local people. Na Mir Mohammad, Thansingh Doli, Amraram Beniwal, Zilla Parishad member Hukmaram addressed. The district chief spoke to Collector Lokbandhu on the phone and talked about mediation and reconciliation.

Sub-Divisional Officer Naresh Soni, Balotra Deputy Superintendent of Police Dhanphool Meena, Pachpadra Police Officer Pradeep Danga discussed the demands of the local people with HPCL officials in the refinery. On Wednesday night, Additional District Collector Barmer Omprakash Bishnoi, Additional Superintendent of Police Balotra Nitesh Arya reached Pachpadra Refinery. He initiated a meeting with the local people’s delegation and HPCL officials at the refinery office. The meeting which started around 8.30 pm continued till late night. On the other hand, hundreds of people were standing on the dharna till late night.
