srinagar: In a major step towards achieving saturation of the government’s welfare programmes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra from Shri Birsa Munda’s birthplace, Khunti, Jharkhand, on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas.

Specially designed IEC (Information, Education and Communication) vans, symbolizing the launch of the government’s massive outreach programme, were flagged off by dignitaries such as governors, chief ministers, union ministers and ministers of state from 68 districts. country with significant tribal population.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the IEC campaign began with an inaugural program at Dawar Gurez in Bandipora District, attended by District Commissioner Bandipora, Shri Owais Ahmed, as well as locals, youth, PRIs and senior government officials. During the event, beneficiaries of government-supported programs virtually interacted with Lieutenant Governor, J&K and Shri Manoj Sinha and shared their experiences about the benefits of the program through the ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’ segment.

Similarly, in Jammu region, a massive IEC campaign was launched in Budhal Tehsil, Rajouri District, in the presence of Shri Sumit Kumar Jarangal, District Commissioner, Director, Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Rajouri Shri Vikas Kundal and other dignitaries.
There was an overwhelming participation of the masses in the events held in both regions where tribes are concentrated.

One of the largest outreach initiatives ever undertaken, the Viksit Bharat Campaign aims to cover 2.55 lakh Gram Panchayats and over 3,600 urban local bodies by January 25, 2024, touching every district of the country.

The entire campaign is being planned and implemented with a ‘whole of government’ approach with the active involvement and involvement of state governments, district authorities, urban local bodies and Gram Panchayats.
