Canada, September 22 (Punjab Mail)- Pal Singh Purewal, who prepared the original Nanakshahi calendar, has passed away. 90-year-old Sikh scholar and former engineer Pal Singh Purewal, who developed the original Nanakshahi calendar (which was accepted by a large section of its members as a separate calendar of the Sikh community), died in Canada on Thursday afternoon (India time). .

Let us tell you that the rumor of his death was also spread on social media a few days ago. According to his family members, he was under the observation of doctors but breathed his last in the early hours of Thursday (Canada time). His demise is a big blow to the supporters of the original Nanakshahi calendar adopted by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. He was a retired engineer, author, scholar and a teacher.
