Test: Kohli resigns as Test captain
India captain Virat Kohli has stepped down in the wake of the recent T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates. He was later removed from the ODI captaincy by the BCCI following the announcement of the ODI series against South Africa. As the three-match Test series against South Africa draws to a close, Virat Kohli has abruptly resigned as Test captain today.
In such a situation, he announced his resignation from the captaincy of Test cricket on his Instagram page today. Many fans were shocked to see this. Virat Kohli, who has been leading the Indian team in Test cricket for the past several years, has suddenly stepped down as captain.
Virat Kohli’s post: I have worked hard for Test cricket for 7 years. The Indian team is currently moving in the right direction. I definitely feel like I’ve done my job honestly.
However, nothing should stand still. In that sense, I think my Test captaincy is over now. After 7 years of leadership, I have given 120% of my work to the Indian team.
