Islam Abad: Prosecution of President Asif Ali Zardari in a suspicious transaction case has been postponed.

In Islamabad, Accountability Court Judge Asghar Ali heard a suspicious transaction case of Rs 8 billion. Former President Asif Ali Zardari was also present in the court room on the order of the court.

Asif Zardari’s lawyer Farooq H Naik said that there was no charge of damaging the national exchequer in the case, his client could not be charged, the case could not be formed after the NAB Amendment Ordinance, a petition for acquittal was filed under the new NAB Ordinance. The decision cannot be made until a decision has been made on the application.

The court reserved its decision on the admissibility of Asif Ali Zardari’s plea for acquittal on the basis of the new NAB ordinance.
