‘Saharasri’ Subrata Roy, founder of Sahara India Pariwar, breathed his last on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack following a long illness. He was 75 years old.

Mourning the death of Roy, Sahara India Group said in a statement: “Sahra India Pariwar reports with deep sadness the demise of ‘Saharasri’ Subrata Roy Sahara, Executive Employee and Chairman of Sahara India Pariwar.

“Saharasri ji was an inspirational leader and visionary; he passed away at 10.30 pm on November 14 due to cardio-respiratory arrest after a protracted battle with complications arising from metastatic malignancy, hypertension and diabetes. He was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and died on November 12 following a decline in health.” Institute of Medical Research (KDAH) in Mumbai.”

“His loss will be deeply felt by the entire Pariwar of Saharan India. Saharasri ji was a guiding force, a mentor and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of working with him,” the group said. she said.

“Details regarding the last rites will be communicated in due course,” the statement said.

It was also stated that Sahara India Pariwar is committed to preserving Roy’s legacy and will continue to honor his vision in guiding the organisation.
