Farmers gave memorandum to the Chief Minister
Banswara. The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh gave a memorandum to the District Collector on Thursday in the name of the Chief Minister regarding the various demands of the farmers.
In the memorandum given under the leadership of District President Khemji Patidar, not to cut the power supply being done for agricultural irrigation in the state, availability of DAP for Rabi sowing, to start the purchase of paddy and maize at support price, by fixing proper regulation. Demand was made to provide water, disaster relief grant and crop insurance claim for the damage caused by excessive and non-rainfall. He said that due to power cut, irrigation of cotton crop is getting affected. Due to non-purchase of paddy and maize crops on support price, farmers are forced to sell them at throwaway prices. He demanded to provide interest free crop loan equal to the credit limit, reduce the tax on diesel and fulfill the above demands. Also said that if there is no solution in seven days, a state-wide agitation would be organized from the tehsil level. During this, the divisional president Ranchod Patidar, Vaneshwar Trivedi and other farmers were involved.
