Jaipur. Rajasthan power crisis: A new problem may arise in the midst of the ongoing power crisis in Rajasthan for the last fortnight. The markets of Jaipur have been doing mass decorations on Diwali for years and every time the government has been providing electricity to the business houses at subsidized rates. In the midst of the power crisis, the business circles of the capital Jaipur have made plans to launch the moon and stars in the markets, but have not yet applied to the Energy Department to get cheap electricity. If the government does not provide electricity at a subsidized rate, then the traders may face a crisis.

Some traders say that applications will be made in two-three days. In Rajasthan, if the power crisis deepens or the government refuses to provide electricity at subsidized rates, then the market will be illuminated with generators. On the other hand, top officials of the Energy Department are also saying that if the applications come, a solution will be found after talking to the government.

In Rajasthani Jaipur, more than 50 business circles, including small and big ones, have been making mass decorations in the market on Diwali. But last year due to Korena’s hit, the small markets of the capital were deprived of light. This time the situation is fine, so preparations have been made to illuminate the market. Every year, about 15 days before Diwali, the trade boards have been applying to the Energy Department for mass decorations in the market and the file goes to the CM House. After that the traders get the gift of electricity at concessional rates.

Chief Minister is appealing to save electricity
In view of the situation of power crisis in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is also appealing to save electricity. On Thursday also, CM has tweeted and appealed to the people of the state for limited and judicious use of electricity. He wrote that the entire country is struggling with the power crisis. The demand for electricity has increased due to the change in the weather system. The gap between demand and supply has widened.

domestic rate connection
Jaipur City Superintending Engineer, Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam, Ashok Tyagi said that temporary connections are issued to the trade boards every year at domestic rates. Under the temporary connection, one and a half times the rate of the domestic connection is charged, but after the exemption, the connection is being issued to the business circles on the normal tariff of the domestic, 76 temporary connections in the year 2018, 76 temporary connections in 2019 and 46 in 2020. Permanent connections were issued. Every year 70 to 80 thousand units of electricity have been consumed during the three-day mass decoration in the markets.

So the market will be illuminated by the generator
Business circles do not get electricity at cheap rates, so some trade boards have started talking about lighting the market by running generators. On MI Road, the work of decoration will also start within a day or two and the inner market of the boundary wall will also start the decoration work. Suresh Saini, general secretary of Vyapar Mandal, says that the file will be filed within a day or two for the temporary connection of electricity in the market. If the power crisis in Rajasthan deepens further or the government does not decide to provide electricity at subsidized rates, then it will be forced to light the market by running generators.

full expectation from the government
Subhash Goyal, president of Jaipur Trade Federation, says that every time there has been a concession in electricity rates and this time also it is expected that the government will take a decision in the interest of the trade boards to illuminate the markets. If the concession in the rates of electricity connection is not available, then a decision will be taken in the meeting of the Jaipur Federation as to what to do.
