Side effect of Chief Minister’s announcement…..

Singrauli. The target of constructing more than 1500 houses every month under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) does not seem to be fulfilled this month. The announcement made by the Chief Minister during the meeting organized on October 4 at Chitrangi is becoming the main reason.

The side effect of the Chief Minister’s announcement is that now the officials of the Panchayat Department are finding it difficult to prepare 500 houses this month. While 1700 houses were built more than the target met last month.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister has announced to give free sand to the eligible beneficiaries who build houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In view of the announcement, the beneficiaries are now demanding sand and in the hope of getting sand free, the work of construction of houses has been stopped. The sarpanches and secretaries of the village have been apprised of the present situation to the senior officers of the district and district panchayats.

Here, the officials are shying away from giving any such facility to the beneficiaries as no order has been issued to give sand free of cost. It is worth noting that at present the price of a tractor trolley is being charged from Rs 4 to 5 thousand. The beneficiaries will get relief from this expenditure if the announcement of the Chief Minister is implemented.

As soon as the speed came, now again the work became sluggish
The construction of houses under the housing scheme had gained momentum after a lot of efforts. In July, out of 24506 approved houses in the entire district, only 58 houses were ready. At the same time, after the pressure and efforts of the officials, the field staff has reached the figure of houses ready in August and September 2017. In September alone, 1700 houses have been built. But now in this month, the field staff is also sweating in getting 500 houses ready.

The scheme to give free sand to the beneficiaries of the housing has been taken as a pilot project. This scheme will be implemented first in Singrauli. For this, the exercise is going on at a brisk pace from the government level. The order is expected to be issued by the end of this month.
