All reached the Umra police station and surrounded the police station and protested against the police.
Navratri was organized on Monday night by ABVP near VNSGU Convention Hall. The Umra police personnel reached the VNSGU campus as the event was organized without the permission of the police. The police gave instructions to call off the event. There was a scuffle between the ABVP and the police over this matter. When the matter got heated, a fight broke out between the police and the workers. The Umra police forcibly took several activists into custody by putting them in police vans. The ruckus between the police and the workers continued till late in the night at Umra police station. On Tuesday, matters heated up even more. A large number of activists gathered in the VNSGU campus. Everyone protested against the action taken by the police. Everyone demanded suspension of Umra police personnel. For a long time, the workers demonstrated in the university campus.

The workers’ anger was not subsiding. All the universities gathered at the main gate. The workers blocked the road here. All in unison kept shouting slogans to suspend the police personnel.
– Directly reach Collector’s Office:
Later the workers decided to go to the collector’s office. Directly reach collector office from VNSGU. The Collector accused the police of wrongly taking action against him. The activists submitted a memorandum to the collector demanding strict action against the police.

Police did not see:
ABVP workers had gathered at VNSGU on Tuesday morning against the action taken by the police on Monday night. But during this time not a single police personnel was seen in the VNSGU campus. Whenever a large number of students or student organization workers gather in VNSGU, the police also come. But no one was seen on Tuesday.
VC’s permission in question:
Due to Corona, the government has banned the public Navratri event. In VNSGU on Monday, ABVP raised the slogan of giving permission to the Vice-Chancellor for the Navratri event. Despite the refusal from the government, in which jurisdiction the permission given by the Vice-Chancellor is coming, various questions are being raised about it.
The coming of the police without permission is a matter of discussion:
University is the temple of education. The discussion of police entering the VNSGU campus and assaulting the activists playing Navratri has caught fire in the education world. It is being discussed in the education world that it is illegal for the police to come to the university campus without the permission of the Vice-Chancellor.
Demonstrations against Umra Police across the state
ABVP activists protested against the Umra police in Ahmedabad, Vadodara as well as several other cities of the state against Monday night’s incident at VNSGU. Also demanded the administration there to put pressure on the government to take action against the Umra police.
