A driver hit an 11-year-old boy riding a bicycle in Regina on Monday, according to city police.
The boy was injured, but police said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
In a statement, police said officers were called to the scene of the crash just after 6:14 p.m. CST. They say the man who hit the boy was at the scene, was traveling below the speed limit and was not under the influence of alcohol.
Police said a preliminary investigation showed the victim was riding his bicycle on Elgaard Drive (on the north side of the city) when the bicycle was hit by a vehicle.
They praised the boy for wearing a bicycle helmet and noted that this could save him from serious injuries.
Police are still investigating and are asking anyone with information related to this incident to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
