Farmers Associations Maha Dharna at Indira park: Joint Kisan Morcha leader Rakesh Tikayat clarified that they did not go home until their demands were accepted by the Center. He warned that the movement would continue if the Center came down on farmer issues. He participated in the Mahadharna held in Hyderabad, demanding that the repeal of agricultural laws in the country be passed in Parliament. He demanded the repeal of cultivation laws as well as the introduction of the Minimum Support Prices Act.

The All India Peasant Struggle Coordinating Committee (AIKMS) held a dharna at Indira Park at the call of the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) to mark the end of the year of the peasant movement demanding the repeal of cultivation laws. SKM leader Rakesh Tikayat, AIKS leaders Hannan Molla, Atul Kumar Anjan, Jagtar Bajwa and Ashish Mittal were present on the occasion. All India Farmers Union leaders Pashya Padma, Thigala Sagar, Vissa Kiran Kumar, Vemulapalli Venkataramaiah, Vimalakka and others participated.
Tikayat said this was the first time the movement had been held in the national capital, Delhi, for a year. Tikayat said the Modi government was not a people’s government. He said the Center was running on the orders of Adani and Ambani. The farmer wants to set up a committee to solve the problems. Demanded that the Minimum Support Prices Act be brought into force. Tikayat said they would go home if the Center agreed to their demands. If not, the movement would continue.
“Language is different, we all have the same concept. Our fight is not just for the abolition of cultivation laws. The Modi government is not a people’s government. The RSS-led Modi government continues. The Center is running on the orders of Adani and Ambani. This is the first movement of the year in Delhi. The Modi government is vying for the benefit of corporates. There are many doubts about the repeal of the cultivation laws. He demanded compensation for the farmers who died in the peasant movement. The Minimum Support Prices Act should be brought across the country. The Central Committee should be set up to resolve the problems of the farmer. SKM leaders and scientists should be partners in the committee. The Prime Minister should respond to the repeal of the Electricity Amendment Bill. Private companies are being bullied into not bringing in the seed bill. For now we are ready for negotiations and will discuss extensively. We will go home if our demands are accepted by the center. The movement will continue if the demands are not met. All political parties across the country should come together in the movement. The KCR government’s stance on the peasant movement should be made clear. TRS ‘attitude towards grain procurement in Telangana is not right. ” Rakesh Singh Tikayat clarified.
