New Delhi: Due to depression in Bay of Bengal, many states of India are receiving heavy rains. Against this backdrop, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued a heavy rainfall warning in 25 states including Uttar Pradesh Rain, Madhya Pradesh Rain and Rajasthan Rains. Orange Alert has also been issued in these states. Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim will witness heavy rainfall. A total of 7 people have died in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours after a wall collapsed due to continuous rain.

Rain in Odisha:
Many districts of Odisha have been warned of heavy rains. Coastal and southern regions of the state received heavy rainfall for 2 consecutive days due to low pressure formation. Heavy rains continued in Bhubaneswar along with western and interior parts of Odisha state.

Tamil Nadu Rain:
The IMD has forecast light to moderate rain over some parts of Tamil Nadu, including coastal areas and areas adjoining the Western Ghats. The state capital Chennai is likely to experience thundershowers in the next few days.

Rain in Madhya Pradesh:
Morena, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Niwari in Madhya Pradesh are likely to receive heavy rain today, the IMD said. Heavy rain warning has been issued in about 20 districts including districts of Narmadapuram and Gwalior divisions.

Rain in Delhi:
As the monsoon recedes, many parts of the national capital Delhi have received heavy rainfall. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rain in the city for the next 2-3 days. The rains are expected to make up for a record monsoon deficit in August, which saw the city receive the lowest rainfall in 14 years.
