In all types of courses along with engineering, the fear of vacant seats is haunting the operators.
– Despite the increased expectation due to mass promotion, the water went back
– Students trust the state university more than private
The private universities of the city have started looking for students these days. These private universities, which run many courses along with engineering, are facing the fear of seats being vacant. Even private universities do not see any benefit of mass promotion. students of the state as compared to private universities
There is more trust in universities. From which they have a hope of employment.
Veer Narmad South Gujarat University is situated in Surat city. Under which there are more than 30 departments and more than 300 colleges. Here students from Tapi to Vapi study from certificate course to PhD. Now four private universities have also become functional in Surat itself. First Oro University then Bhagwan Mahaveer University was established. After this, the same year Public and Vanitha Vishram became a private university. With the advent of four private universities, it seemed that the interest of the students towards VNSGU would be less. But it didn’t happen. Today four private universities are looking for students. Because there is a shortage of students in all their courses. Most of the seats in all the courses with Engineering, MBA, MCA are vacant.
Fees big reason:
The fees for all courses in private universities are higher than in state universities. Fee is a big subject due to which students do not like to take admission in it. Anyway, the students are demanding a cut in fees after Corona. They are also requesting to refund the examination fees. In such a situation, taking admission in private universities with high fees is not considered appropriate.
– Question of employment in the government sector
Students also feel that due to the degree of private universities, there may be a dilemma regarding employment in the government sector. If the degree of private universities is not kept valid, then there can be a big problem going forward. Then one may have to rely on employment in the private sector itself. Whether their courses have been approved by the UGC or not, it is also to be checked separately and taken admission. It has happened many times that after studying it is found that the course is not valid in UGC.
Mass promotion also does not benefit:
Due to Corona this time all the students were given mass promotion. In class 12th, maximum number of students from Surat district have passed. Seeing this, the private university felt that all the seats would be filled. But the opposite is happening. Even private universities have found it difficult to get students.
– Big difference in fees
There is a big difference between the fees of state and private universities. The degree is obtained from the state university only in normal fees. In comparison, the fees of private universities are two to four times more.

– Many opportunities with degrees
There are more opportunities for grooming future in government university. There is an opportunity for studies up to PhD with degree. That too at normal fees. In private it costs a lot. Government university degree and PhD employment is also expected soon.

Private university has problems if students are not found
The professors of private universities say that students run away from private universities due to fees. Along with this, they also doubt their degree. First of all the student prefers to take admission in the government university. If he does not get admission there, he moves towards the private university. Private universities run only on the fees of the students. Student shortage affects everyone’s salary and running the university. In such a situation, the salary of many professors has also been cut. In case of non-availability of students, the private university has to deal with the problems.
