Residents of Delhi-NCR woke up to a misty morning on Friday with air quality falling further into the ‘severe’ category. The AQI in Anand Vihar in the National Capital reached the ‘severe’ category at 500 with PM 2.5 and PM 10, while NO2 was recorded at 76, above ‘satisfactory’ levels, and CO was recorded at 113 in the ‘moderate’ category. In Bawana, PM 2.5 reached 500 and PM 10 reached 499; both were in the ‘serious’ category; CO was recorded at 113 in the ‘medium’ category and NO2 at 34 at ‘satisfactory’ levels.
The station at Delhi Technical University (DTU) recorded PM 10 at 500 under the ‘severe category’, while PM 2.5 was recorded at 376 under the ‘very poor’ category. At DTU, CO was at 110 and NO2 reached 103 in the medium category.
In adjoining Noida, the AQI was at 498 in the ‘severe’ category, while in Gurugram, the AQI was at 381, putting it in the ‘very poor’ category.
