
ISLAMABAD (Online): Former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi approached the Supreme Court (SC) against physical arrest.
Pervaiz Elahi challenged the Supreme Court orders and hearings regarding his physical detention. Aamir Saeed Ran filed an appeal in the SC on behalf of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
The petitioner requested the judicial magistrate to expel him from the anti-corruption department case in Punjab. The magistrate rejected the request for physical detention.
The sessions judge and the Lahore High Court ordered physical remand on appeal. Physical detention is against fundamental rights. There is a threat of mental torture and life-threatening risks due to physical detention.
SC is requested to annul the physical detention decision.
