JAKARTA: Malaysian palm oil futures opened lower on Thursday as rival soybean oil in Chicago weighed on the market.

Palm closes on the rise, supported by rival oils

The benchmark palm oil contract for January delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange fell 9 ringgit, or 0.22%, to 4,009 ringgit ($851.17) per metric tonne in early trading.
