The leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), Nawaz Sharif, will most likely contest the upcoming general elections. Information regarding the above was voiced by PML-N as party leaders expect that the cases will most likely disappear within two months.

While making a statement regarding the above-mentioned issues, PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah said, “Our Prime Minister Sharif expressed his hope that he will not wait for the by-elections to participate in the elections and that the cases against him will be decided before the February 8 elections. ”

Discussions were ongoing between party leaders that if Nawaz Sharif did not get a clean result from the court before February 8, he could participate in the by-elections, not the general elections, after clearing his name in the cases.

He further added, “Shehbaz Sharif will remain as the president and the elder Sharif will continue to play his current incumbent role.”

Meanwhile, PML-N leader Javed Latif expressed his demand for immediate hearing of the pleas presented by Chief Nawaz Sharif.

Answering whether PML-N will form any alliance with PML-Q in the upcoming polls, he said that Nawaz Sharif will meet Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain soon and discuss the case.

Rana Sanaullah also reminded that his party is ready to meet with “PTI minus May 9 suspects”.

He also claimed that former prime minister Shahid Hakan Abbasi was not angry with the leadership.

At a press conference on Thursday, PML-N leader Javed Latif urged the judiciary to fix Chief Nawaz Sharif’s objections in the Al-Azizia and Avenfield corruption cases for hearing at the earliest.

The official added that Nawaz Sharif and PTI chief Imran Khan should get justice before the polls, stating, “If he is guilty of any crime, he should be punished.”
