Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange-Patil, who is currently on a state-wide tour, interrupted his speech as the adhan (Islamic call to prayer) echoed from a nearby mosque in Supa village in Pune district’s Baramati taluka. In a viral video, Jarange is seen expressing his respect for different cultures and stating that interfering with anyone’s religion is against Maratha culture.
Jarange, known for his strong advocacy for Maratha reservations, has set a new deadline of December 24 for the state government to declare reservations. He urges Maratha youth to pursue their demands peacefully without resorting to extreme measures.
The tour, which covers districts like Solapur, Osmanabad, Beed, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, Hingoli, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Dharashiv till November 23, is witnessing enthusiastic support. Promoters are planning grand receptions with floral showers of JCBs, reflecting the norm established in recent months. Jarange calls for peaceful defense of Maratha reservations by attending large rallies.
