The Ministry of Law and Justice has issued a notice to imprison Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan in the £190 million Al Qadir Trust case. Aaj News reported.

In a notification issued on Tuesday, the ministry said the accountability court will register a jail case against the former prime minister in Adiala Jail.

The notification was issued after the federal government approved the imprisonment of Imran Khan.

A day earlier, a team from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrived at Adiala jail and arrested the PTI chief in the jail. He is currently in the custody of the NAB court while in the prison facility.

The arrest came after an accountability court in Islamabad issued arrest warrants against Imran in the Toshakhana case and the Al-Qadir Trust case.

Judge Mohammad Bashir presided over the hearing in two cases in which the anti-corruption agency had filed applications for Khan’s arrest.

Earlier today, the Islamabad High Court passed a stay order against Imran Khan’s imprisonment till November 16 in the password case.

The two-member bench, comprising Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Saman Raffat, announced the verdict on Tuesday. The decision was announced while the hearing of the password case was ongoing in Adiala Jail.
