Farmers will conduct Mahapanchayat on 26 November
On November 26, on the completion of one year of the farmers’ movement, preparations have been made to mobilize a large number of farmers on the Tikri border. On this day, it has been decided to hold a big mahapanchayat in 7 acres on behalf of the Bharatiya Kisan Union Ekta in Sector-13, some distance from the Tikri border. Shivakumar ‘Kakka’ of the Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh (RKM) said that the cabinet approved the bill for the withdrawal of all three agricultural laws, which were already announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and it is a mere formality. This is just a process. Now we want the government to consider our other demands also. He said that the ideal is that after taking the decision to withdraw the laws, they should hold the next round of talks with us in which we will also discuss the issue of MSP.
SKM placed 6 demands in front of the PM
The United Kisan Morcha (SKM), a common platform of farmers’ organizations currently protesting, wrote to the Prime Minister on Sunday, demanding the resumption of talks on 6 demands of farmers, including legal guarantee for the purchase of agricultural produce at MSP. These demands include the removal and arrest of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra in connection with the Lakhimpur Kheri cases, withdrawal of the cases registered against the farmers and construction of a memorial in memory of the farmers killed during the protest.
