A 46-year-old resident of Wanwadi has lodged a complaint. The incident took place between February and June 2021. According to police, the complainant was looking for a job. In February, his e-mail advertised a vacancy for a manager at a reputed hotel in Britain. Accordingly, the complainant filled in the complete information on the application. The accused then returned the e-mail stating that the complainant had been selected in the respective hotel. The accused then edited the complainant’s trust through correspondence and started demanding money. Accordingly, the complainants paid Rs. 4 lakh 19 thousand online from time to time. However, since the complainant did not receive any e-mail, he went to the British Embassy in New Delhi to seek information. Then they realized that they had been deceived.
