Indian woman involved in serious crimes arrested four years later
New Delhi: For four years, an Indian woman accused of kidnapping and murder has been dancing to the beat of the police.
According to Indian media reports, Nidhi was arrested from his native Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. Delhi Police said that Nidhi was named in the case of abduction and murder of a man named Sagar in 2015.
She went missing after being granted bail in 2018 and was declared a notorious criminal the following year, following a tip-off on Saturday, after which police arrested her near a cafe in Govindpuram, Ghaziabad.
According to police, Sagar was abducted on April 1, 2015 by nine persons including Nidhi and her husband Rahul Jat from Delhi’s GTB enclave area, took her to Uttar Pradesh and later killed her by throwing her under a truck. The murder was allegedly presented as an accident, police said.
Explaining the motive behind the murder, it was said that Nidhi and Rahul Sagar were against friendship with Nidhi’s sister Aarti. Despite their warnings, he continued to meet her even after marriage. Police said they were enraged and decided to kill Sagar.
