Advocate Rashida Qureshi, a legal expert and child rights activist, said that there are many reasons for sexual and physical abuse of children. It is illegal to employ and abuse minors. Where to report against child abuse or forced labor, which agency will take action? The public is not aware of what action can be taken against the parents who take forced labor from their children. To prevent these incidents, there is a need to unite the society and create public awareness. This is not just a matter of one institution. Similarly, there must be coordination between the police, the Child Protection Bureau, the Labor Department and other agencies.
Rashida Qureshi said that laws related to child abuse need to be tightened, the process of getting justice should be made easier, first of all it should be done that there should be no guarantee of child abuse and second step should be taken to prevent child abuse in such cases. The heirs and the accused could not reconcile. Because in most cases the child’s heirs reconcile by taking money from the accused or under some pressure. To date, no accused has been convicted in any case of violence against children except the Tayyaba case in Islamabad.
Rabia Yousaf, a child psychologist, says that when a child is sexually or physically abused, such children go into trauma and lose confidence in others. Bringing such children back to normal life is a difficult task, but it is not impossible. We re-create the minds of such children, various therapies try to erase the unpleasant incident in their heart and mind, through play and art therapy the child is made to believe that whatever is with him. It was an accident, now life has to move on. Her friends, close relatives and parents play an important role in this work.
