Government Stops Salaries of Employees Working at Street Stalls During Working Hours ReadingS

Srinagar: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) SA Raina, Sopore, directed the Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) concerned to retain the salaries of two government employees operating street stalls during scheduled working hours on Tuesday.

Thereupon, the management preferred to withhold November salaries and requested an action report from the relevant department heads.

The incident came to light when the enforcement team was directed by SA Raina, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) in Sopore, to organize vendors in the bustling Sopore market.

Quoting the ADC in Sopore, an official said: “The Block Veterinary Officer and Executive Engineer are expected to clarify the situation and submit a report on the actions taken.” The government employees identified were Javaid Ahmed Sheikh of Panzulla Rafiabad and Nazir Ahmed Changa of Noor Bagh. They work in the Irrigation and Flood Control (I & FC) department and the Animal Husbandry (Veterinary) department respectively.

Additionally, the ADC emphasized that the administration is actively implementing measures to ensure punctuality in government offices and confirmed that such enforcement efforts will continue in the future.
