The dead body of the former president of Semmankudal panchayat near Omalur was found in Sarabanga river. A man who had gone missing for the past ten days was found dead in the river this evening.

Semmankudal Village Panchayat is in Omalur Panchayat Union of Salem District. Jayaraman belongs to Ellayur area of ​​this panchayat. He is the former chairman of Semmankudal Panchayat Council. He owns and runs a coconut fiber factory. He has two sons and one daughter. All are married and have separate families. It is said that even though he is a former leader, he is also providing necessary assistance to the villagers. In this situation, Jayaraman has been missing since the 12th. His sons and relatives were not found in many places.


Following this, a complaint was lodged at the Taramangalam police station yesterday. While the police were investigating, a body of a man was found floating in the Sarabanga River passing through Ellayur. Local people saw this and informed the Taramangalam police. The police reached there and took steps to recover the body. Later, with the help of people who know how to swim, the body of the man was recovered from the river. Then, it was revealed that the missing Jayaraman was dead and floating.


After confirming the death of former Panchayat President Jayaraman, the police recovered the body and sent it to Omalur Government Hospital for post-mortem. A case has been registered and investigation is being conducted regarding the death of the former head of the Panchayat Council. Also, they are investigating whether he fell into the river and died or someone beat him to death. According to the police, it has been revealed that during the initial investigation, he fell down and died under the influence of alcohol.
