Oslo: In Norway, an unidentified assailant entered a supermarket and attacked with a bow and arrow, killing several people.
At least four people have been killed and several others injured in an unidentified attack on a supermarket in the southwestern town of Konsberg, according to the BBC. According to police, the incident took place at around 106 pm local time. “We have arrested the accused involved in the incident and according to the information so far, he has done it alone,” said Police Chief Owend As.
Police have not yet released the number of casualties, but local media say at least four people have been killed so far in the attack.
According to a police spokesman, further investigation will determine the motive for the incident, whether it was a terrorist act or not, Mayor Kerry Ann told the local newspaper VG. This is a very painful event.
According to local media, the attacker entered the Coop Extra supermarket west of Kensberg and started targeting the people there. However, police reached the spot, arrested the assailant after resisting and shifted him to the police station in Dremen town, where further investigation is underway.
The Norwegian Ministry of Justice said in a tweet that Justice Minister Monica Meland had been notified and was closely monitoring the situation.
