The project to start a 60 million tonne refinery at Ratnagiri failed due to the oppressive condition of land acquisition by the then coalition government. However, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri announced to start a petrol refinery with an annual capacity of 20 million tonne in Chandrapur district in the center of the country.

He was speaking after the release of the book ‘[email protected]’ held at Priyadarshini Indira Gandhi Auditorium. The event was attended by State Forest and Cultural Affairs Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, former Union Minister Hansraj Ahir. Puri criticized the Congress and other opposition parties while informing about the people-oriented schemes of the Modi government. He said that the opposition is not raising the issue of the people.
